Green was suspended by the NHL for 13 games. Maki and Green were both charged with assault as a result of the incident, the first time NHL players faced charges as a result of on-ice violence both were acquitted. Green played his junior Hockey with the St. Stanley Cup Champion 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990 with Edmonton Oilers as assistant coach and co-coach.
